SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing) is a leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) software that helps organizations manage their business operations effectively. SAP FI stands for Financial Accounting and it is one of important modules of SAP ERP. It is used to store the financial data of an organization. SAP FI ( Financial Accounting ) is used for external reporting i.e Balance sheet, Profit and Loss statements. SAP FI helps to analyze the financial conditions of a company in the market. It can integrate with other SAP modules like SAP SD, SAP PP, SAP MM, SAP SCM, etc.
SAP Controlling (CO) is another important SAP module offered to an organization. It supports coordination, monitoring, and optimization of all the processes in an organization. SAP CO includes managing and configuring master data that covers cost and profit centers, internal orders, and other cost elements and functional areas.


SAP MM (Materials Management) is a module in SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) that provides companies with materials, inventory and warehouse management capabilities. The primary goal of SAP MM is to make sure that materials are always kept in proper quantities and without shortages or gaps in the organization's supply chain. It also helps supply chain professionals and other SAP users complete the purchasing of goods in a timely and cost-effective way and to be able to deal with day-to-day changes in these processes.

SAP MM is used by many big or small manufacturing, retail and other organizations, for the efficient management of raw materials and consumables. 

SAP MM's functions include material management, procurement process management, master data management (material and vendor master), inventory management, material requirements planning and invoice verification.

 SAP Sales and Distribution is one of the key components of SAP ERP system and is used to manage shipping, billing, selling and transportation of products and services in an organization.
SAP Sales and Distribution module is a part of SAP Logistics module that manages customer      relationship starting from raising a quotation to sales order and billing of the product or service. This module is closely integrated with other modules like SAP Material Management and PP. Key sub-modules of SAP SD are Customer and Vendor Master Data, Sales, Delivery, Billing, Pricing, and Credit Management.

 SAP PP (Production Planning) is a SAP modules, specially designed for integrating different department involved in production and manufacturing. Production Planning is the process of aligning demand with manufacturing capacity to create production and procurement schedules for finished products and component materials.
SAP PP is an important module of SAP. It tracks and makes a record of the manufacturing process flows, for example, the planned and actual costs. Also, goods movements from the conversion of raw material to semi-finished goods. It is fully integrated with the other SAP modules: SD, MM, QM.



ABAP is a high level programming language created by SAP that helps large corporations to customize the SAP ERP. ABAP can help customize workflows for financial accounting, materials management, asset management, and all other modules of SAP. SAP’s current development platform NetWeaver also supports both ABAP and Java. The ABAP full form in SAP is Advanced Business Application.

SAP ABAP is used by developers to develop the SAP R3 Platform. It is a simple language that is easy to learn when it comes to programming. It allows you to choose from procedural and object-oriented programming. It also helps SAP customers to improve their SAP-based applications. It allows you to create custom reports and interfaces. ABAP language is quite easy for programmers. However, it is not a right tool that can be used by non-programmers.

SAP Basis

SAP BASIS stands for Business Application Software Integrated Solution. It is a set of tools that will work as a bridge between your operating system, communication protocols, the various business applications and database. SAP BASIS also includes different administration activities.
These are load balancing, installation, and also maintaining the performance of the SAP systems that are being executed on SAP ABAP or Java stack. You can say that BASIS is an operating system for ABAP and SAP applications.
